Pertronix w/vintage tach
I'm thinking that a fused line from the tach (factory tachs use a 2 amp fuse)to the negative side of the coil, plus a good ground for the tach, would do the trick. I've got pertronix in my '68 4-4-2 and that's how the factory tach is connected. My factory tach works great.

What "vintage tach" do you have?
I thought all electrical tachs work off the signal on the coil and since the Pertronix is merely a transistor switch instead of a mechanical switch there shouldn't be any difference as far as the tach is concerned.
