Oil cap leaking? You might have too much crankcase pressure. Have you checked or changed your PCV valve lately?

Take out the PCV and shake it. If it rattles it's ok. If you hear nothing it's plugged. These are really inexpensive and quick fix parts.

Plugged up PCV can lead to oil leaks elsewhere too.

Can you post a pic of your engine compartment? Is this for your 65?

Huh? That is not your pcv! It may be a vent, your pcv should run to the carburator or intake port.

Pcv is on the valve cover, usually the passenger side, on the drivers side there is a vent, or breather, possibly a tube to the air filter housing.

That's what I thought drivers side valve cover has nothing going to it pass side has a crime vent with a tub to the air cleaner so I guess no PVC ? But I will check in a few just about to leave work from what I can remember only hoses off of intake is to the booster and the carb is to the distribitor

Should be something like this. I guess I can see why you call the filler tube cap a HAT BTW, you should check the filler cap to see if there's a rubber seal inside. It may have deteriorated with age?

The PCV you can get from Rock Auto for less than 2 bucks

If the cap is no good, you can get a new gasket or install after market cap.

Okay I have the 330 with number 2 heads alts in the center and were you PVC is is a air vent with a tube to air cleaner I don't see a rubber seal on the hat / oil cap it's a after market Crome one further more drivers side valve cover has a small filter in the hole were some thing should go on a later year so dont think it's a pressure issue maybe bad rings ?

sorry the pics look better in my album the engine area needs lots of attenion to get rid of the wire mad house that the last guy left me with wires going every witch way.

so I went to a local car show and seen my very first olds 442 at one been to a ton and have never seen one .the guy had a 1967 with a 400 so I asked him if I could check out his pvc system he thought i was pretty nuts! so I am going to copy his set up he ran a tube off of the carb to the drivers side valve cover and installed his pvc there. and on the pass side just had a breather cap nothing going to his air cleaner looked way clean

Sorry, it's really hard to see anything clearly in your pic. Try resizing it before you post again. Try to get the detail of the setup you installed.

Sorry still pretty new to posting pics there are a few in my album that I took off the crome filter thing but who ever owned it before I am guessing took the PVC valve off and put that on instead they put crome covers on and both have holes in them were the oe ones only pass side does for PVC ? I am totally guess tho I will try and take better pics thanks so much for you time and input

No worries. You have to start somewhere. I looked at your album but there's not a lot of detail that I can see to comment on. I assume that silver vent in the second engine pic is hooked up to nothing? Does it go to the valve cover?

Put a breather on the driver's side valve cover and a PCV (Positive Crankcase Vent) on the passenger's side

Either side will work, just make sure your PCV is hooked to manifold vaccum. Put a vent on the other.
