A note to all our members

There is a thread you should read to understand this statement if you are not aware. In it I posted the statement below.

https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...html#post31467

66442ragtop sent me a private message requesting to be banned. He said our site "blows". In response, I was going to be reasonable and give him the benefit of the doubt. I conferred with Paul on this one and decided to grant 66442ragtop's wish. He has been banned. I usually leave private matters private, I assure you all that I would not discuss your private message publicly, however, considering the circumstances I decided to share this with everyone this time to make a public statement.

We will not tolerate abuse by members upon each other. "Flaming" is not acceptable and in obvious cases such as this where there is flagrant dis-respect and excessive or abusive vulgar language it will come to my attention and be corrected. All the moderators and administrators speak with one voice about this. One has a privilege of free speech on the internet, but website moderators, administrators and owners have the responsibility and frankly the power to act accordingly and ban those who they deem offensive or inappropriate.

Thanks to all for reading this,
Dan

Wow that's the first time I've seen that here.

As an administrator over on Aleromod, I deal with people like this a lot. Happens a lot over there, but just like here there are more people willing to help than bash or flame. We get a lot of noobs with street racing stories which are told about it right away. One guy got so bent outta shape about being told that it's not OK to brag about his dangerous street race, in rush hour. It was his first post, and his last. He reacted the same exact way as this guy

A good rule I try to follow is: "Would you say this to somebody's face?" Probably not, then why be an "internet tough guy?"

Lol.

I hate when people don't post parts locations.

No need to get hyper about it, however.

Classic case of "internet tough guy" syndrome - or the guy is just a jerk. Take your pick.

Thank you Dan, I support this (and you) 100%. No, freedom of speech does not apply here. We have the right to demand decency here. Simple, if you don't like it, leave!

Being part of a dozen forums I am glad to see the mods of this site are working to keep a good and decent place. To many other sites well just dont care and turn into 6th grade classrooms. Good job guys!!!!

I saw that. Others saw it as a recent thread, and posted accordingly.

Maybe these advisories should be closed when they are moved.

Willi,

getting on new post list just means someone has replied recently. Not a problem. Norm, you have a good idea. This is mostly for info anyway. For anyone reading this, our sentiments are still in the same vein of thought.
