Ct deadly crash has direct consequence to one of our great members

Im saddened to write this but after speaking to Steve Minore (stickw31) who has been a close friend of mine for many years he asked me to inform all his friends in the Olds world. A deadly crash occured several days ago on I-95 in Old Lyme CT when a wrong way driver collided with another vehicle. The other vehicle was occupied by several members of Steve Minore's family including his grandmother who sadly just recently turned 90 and his aunt. Sadly the three women of that car were killed in the crash and steve lost his grandmother and aunt in one night. Here is a quick video and news summary of the crash. The sad thing is that the wrongway driver who caused the wreck was driving an older Oldsmobile Alero.

If all of you could understand that steve may not be returning emails or calls until his family has moved on from this trajic incident it would be greatly appreciated. I dedicate this thread to Steve's family and Steve and hope all of you could take a minute to read this and give a quick line to steve. You could also PM steve or myself if you have anything else you would like to add.

Stay safe for the holidays everyone and enjoy every minute you have on this earth. Things like this incident and the shooting at the Newtown Elementary School in CT make me forever sad even after having worked an entire career in Law Enforcement

Your friend- Sal on behalf of my friend Steve

Hang in there. I am sorry to hear the bad news and was shocked when I heard it on the tv. I wish you and your family the best through these tough times and hope you have a safe holiday.

Gentlemen,

Over the past three years or so I have gotten to know Steve very well and am proud to call him a good and cherished friend. Our relationship started via the purchase of my Oldsmobile and the never ending quest for parts. He not only became a source for parts but a trusted advisor on my restoration. I can't begin to tell you how many hours he's spent with me both on the phone and hands on. Totally engaged and committed day and night. He not only is a completely trusted advisor but, I consider him my brother from a different mother.

I am going to the services today and I will try to convey everyone's thoughts. No doubt he will appreciate all the condolences. Suffice it to say that he is deserving of the outpouring of concern.

Thanks,

Lou

My condolenses also. I 1st saw this title yesterday, and I'm trying to stay away from all threads with Ct. in the title. Then I saw "crash" and figured I'd better read it.

hug

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers back when I needed it guys. Nice to know all of you were there for me and i am so blessed to have you guys in my life as Oldsmobile buddies, freinds and family.

Today is bittersweet............................. After 8 months the law has finally caught up with someone that took 3 lovely ladies. Make sure you give your family members an extra hug tonight. NEVER take anything for granted.

Thanks for the update, it's very sad and unfortunate that people make the decision to drink and drive. Again my condolences..

condolences Steve and family

this part to me is wrong, after his actions they should be able to dictate any appropriate punishment

"Because Sundstrom is a Rhode Island resident the state (of CT) can't suspend his license and cannot monitor him with a GPS unit if he is released."

Steve,

So so sorry for your loss. I just joined this forum and was exploring.... I had no idea you were going through such a horrible loss. Please accept my belated condolences. It's been a long time since we talked. So sorry for that too. Perhaps we can reconnect when you feel up to it.

Take care my Friend. You and your family are in my prayers.

I know this is late, but I send my condolences. I'm just hearing about this now.

My family has been victim to DUI, so I feel no compassion for anybody that gets wasted, then climbs behind the wheel
