Newbie From Tennessee

The day we drug her out from the barn and the weeds.

New paint and lots of chrome redone and stainless trim rubbed with steel wool. She is coming along nicely.

Hello everyone. I am a newbie from TN. my stepdad and I are in the process of restoring a 1953 Olds 88 2 door that his father bought when new in 1953. This poor old girl has been sold, given away, been through a flood and even used as a step up to hang tobacco in a barn.

Welcome! Sounds as though there is a lot of history with this ride? It is the very same car your grand dad bought new?

I love stories like this. Looks like you have done lots of work. I see a set of lake pipes so you must be doing a little custom stuff. We would love to see more pictures.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. I wil try to get more pictures uploaded in the next few days. The car is being customized some for sure, but still trying to remain orginal at the same time.

If you plan on showing it some when it's done there's a site on the web (Gearhead Gazzette) that has (Cruise Ins) and show listings in the area as well as from long distances.
