newbie from ohio

hello to all first off love the forums so far i have be busy lately so sorry for the late intro my name is bobby little bit about me long time GM fan first love was my 86 camaro i had to sell the car do to money problems and then i got sucked in the import world(i own 2 nissan 240sx)for a long time then my mom meet my new step dad he has a 67 pontiac lemans convertible and 79 trans am that am helping restore and little by little he pulled me into the light so i started looking for a v8 it had to be a GM motor i recently got a motor from a friend it a olds 350 2 bolt(77-80) i know from doing a little bit of reading about it its not the best motor to built but it like a challenge my goal for the motor is 350-400hp i have no idea what am going to put the motor in yet but a 70's cutlass is looking real good i have never really built a v8 before done some motor swaps but never had one part so hence the user name let me know what you guys think any ideas or advice

Welcome to our site, fellow Ohioan!! What part of Ohio are you in?? I think that motor would look very good in a 70 Cutlass, lol!!! Hope you can find one!

Hi welcome to the site. Good luck on finding a car.

My only advice is take your time looking you will find a good body if you take your time. A 350 Olds would also look good in a 81-88 Cutlass also.

When building this engine don't get hung up on numbers and just build it for your application. When your talking about decent numbers like that your going to have to do upgrades to the entire drivetrain.

Different way to start shopping for a car. Get the engine first. Now all you really need is a car. good luck in your search.
