Greetings from Belgium
Greetings from Belgium
Hi everyone,
I like the introduce myself, my name is Filip, 37 years old, live in Belgium near Brussels and dreamed since a kid of American Muscle cars.
I recently became the proud owner of a Cutlass 69 (my first American car!!), she needs some work, but I am pretty technical and not afraid of learning and trying things myself.
My aim is to get her on the road by next summer.
So far I have replaced, brake shoes and drums, brake cylinders, did an extensive maintenance, changed the gearbox to a TH350, (the 300 needed revision and preferred 3 gears instead of 2) and I am currently installing a HEI distributor.
Work coming up: bought a complete set to replace all bushings.
So, you'll see me here in the future with some technical questions.
Regards,
Filip

thanks, it is a Californian car imported in Belgium 10 years ago, good thing is the guy I got it from had really everything of the car, like 2 pairs of keys, original invoice of 69 and so on, bad thing he drove it on propane and did almost no maintenance to it, so I expect some extra work on the engine in the near future.
The engine is a Rocket 350 with 2 barrell carburator, but I already have another intake manifold and a 4 barrell carburator ready, so I am planning to change this in the coming weeks as well.
Regards,
Filip
Glad to have you aboard Flip. Lots of 69 owners on the site so you'll be able to gets lots of information and help. A friend of mime Jamsbo will chime in soon he is just plain nuts on 69's or maybe just plain nuts period.

Thanks for the warm welcome
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, feel home already
, I am on a few Belgian forums, but none of these are specifically on Oldsmobile, so I feel a bit in the walhalla
There seem to be a lot of Oldsmobile in Europe, but not that many in Belgium, makes it unique to drive, but not many locations for parts unfortunately.

Filip
