Newbie - Introduction otto72
Hello all - New to the site and wanted to introduce myself.
I am in the process of buying a 1972 Cutlass from my brother, he bought it around 1997 at a springtime car show called "Automotion" in the Wisconsin Dells. At the time he bought it, the car had an issue with the paint on all the panels, the issue was a disgruntled girlfriend of the previous owner had "keyed" drivers door, front drivers fender, hood, passenger front fender, passenger door, passenger rear quarter, rear deck, drivers side rear quarter. Luckily she had not had the heart to rip the factory vinyl top. The car has a repaint since, headers installed and other than that original to the best I can tell. I was hoping the fellow that sold him the car may be a member of the site and would have a little more history to share. As I remember he lived in Poynette WI and had a black W30 convertible. I plan to post a few pictures after Christmas when we roll it out to run it for a while.

Thanks for the welcome all. She knew enough about what he had to mess it up. I am stopping at my brothers tomorrow and will get some pictures to share. He had it repainted the color it was when he bought it, an orange color but not hurt your eyes orange, not sure what the factory called it. I like it, and I think with the beige vinyl top it looks pretty rich. Pretty much a grandpas car cloth bench and column shift automatic Rocket 350.
My first car I bought from dad was a 70 Vista Cruiser he had an older one before it and I have always liked Oldsmobiles.
My first mission will be fixing a header leak, then taking the cherry bombs my brother liked.. off and replacing them with turbo flows, after that it will be some suspension checks and possible freshening. I look forward to learning some good maintenance procedures as I go.

Thanks 69CSHC for the welcome. I am enjoying the site. Pretty sure when my brother bought the car around 1997 there was 56k on the odometer so it has not been driven a bunch, hope to start using it more when the time comes this spring.
