newbie here

Hello all recently purchased my first old oldsmobile a 1952 88 holiday hardtop I found it on fri before labor day and could not walk away from it what a neat old car.I already have a 64 dodge coronet i just got off rotisserie but can a guy have to many projects......Well this is a bit older then im used to working on so I will have many questions as I learn and I really appreciate a fourm such as this.Ill try and add a pict of my newest pride and joy Thank you for welcoming me..Dan

She looks as though she has a lot of potential. I like the lines, especially the 3-piece rear window. Have fun!

That there's a right elegant old beast. Good color combo too, black over what appears to be Cascade Green. Find some early 50s Olds full wheel covers and some wide white radials and boy howdy at the cruise night! Or for a mild custom touch, a set of Cadillac sombrero caps would look great too.

You'll get used to a HydraMatic snapping you through four forward gears soon enough. Be warned- HM ain't as smooth as a Chrysler Torqueflite, but it's every bit as bulletproof.

If no one pointed it out- for PARK, put the HMT in R after the engine's shut off. A properly functioning HM will engage a lock pawl by doing that.

Snappy shifts are no problem the old girl actually barks the tire when it hits second I have the original hub caps and also picked up a set off a 51 that i like but I envision wide whites and flipper caps I think thay came on 57 olds I found a great deal on some www tires but dont know if a 7.60 15 will be big enough seems to be a odd size Way different from the muscle cars I had my 64 chevelle ss ran 10.80s and dodge im building now should run low 10s but this car is just so cool to drive ....
