newbie with a 51 olds 88 A
#3
The 1950 88 was a 2bbl post car , In 1951 the super had a 4bbl and additional 25 horse power also could have power brakes and steering which the 1950 didn't have. I'm not sure what the A is in your super 88A but the holiday was offered in 51 which is a hard top (no piller) but I've don't remember it or the regular 88 being designated as a A style car, others may know this and chime in. There are probably other differences please elaborate if this does not answer your question....Lost in the fifties...Tedd

The 51 Olds 88A was almost identical to the 50 Olds 88. It was offered in only two body styles. A two door "post" sedan and a four door sedan. It was probably offered as a low cost car to compete with Pontiac and Chevy. It also allowed Olds to use the 49&50 tooling one more year.
The 51 super 88 had a slightly larger body , with different tail lights and other trim.
The 4 pictures below are (left to right) are 1950 88, 1951 88A and 1951 super 88.

The last photo, the yellow car is a '53. The front bumper is distinct.
