Hello to all, I have a 48 olds series 68 fastback. I have rewired the car for 12 volts. I am trying to hook up the dome light with the door switches and have the light turn on when doors are closed. Any suggestions to find a wiring diagram around?

Just a thought but could you have a ground wire switched to a positive, does it spark as it is being attached at anytime, and are the switches in good order ?....Tedd

 

The light has power to it at all times, the door switch provides the ground to complete the circuit. Somehow your light is finding a ground somewhere. I don't know if there is a contact in your headlight switch or possibly a separate switch on your dash to turn on the dome light without opening the doors somewhere.
