Newbe living in Tucson

Wanted to introduce myself. I have enjoyed reading the forum information and am trying to soak in as much as I can. I accidently had a '70 W-30 fall into my lap and at the age of 61 am beginning to live life as a teenager!

I am getting over the pain as I find out more about the car. Long story short, I traded a non numbers matiching '69 Z28 for another car that was to be built by a guy in Colorado. After 18 months the car still wasn't completed so with an exchange of word and a little money I ended up with this car without paperwork proof. He had me in a corner and I had to take this car to end this long chapter. I started looking for any paperwork by removing seats, etc and the very last seat back I took off nearly gave me a heart attack. There was the broadcast sheet with the magical W-30. The cowl tag has the 2 dashes for the paint and the braodcast sheet shows special order 53 which is easliy seen under the terrible white paint job. I don't believe the engine is matching but I am having a local expert coming over to give it a look over.

Check the vin derivative on the block below the #1 spark plug, if it matches up, it's the original motor. I would rather have a W30 than a Camaro any day! Sounds like you made out pretty good.

The paint code "53" is Nugget Gold, one of the special order colors that year, hence the dashes on the data tag.
