New Olds Guy

New to this forum, not to Olds power. My connection is the Olds 403 engine in my 81 GMC pickup. Had the truck since 1986 and installed the Olds engine soon after I got the truck. It was a former 350 Olds diesel that needed work so I took the easy route and bought a used gas engine. Its been just a great engine all these years. I found this site while searching out sources for new motor mounts. Mine are badly worn and need replacing. Found a set at Napa.

WoW! Way cool. I think your truck is only the second to show up on the sight. The other is a Military Deuce and a half with a 455 in it. Welcome to CO.

Thanks, these diesel trucks with the Olds gas transplants were very common back when I bought mine. As the Olds diesels turned out to be a little unsuited for typical pickup truck use there was a real run on used Olds gas engines to replace the diesel. I was looking for a 350 gas for mine but all I could find was this 403. No regrets there. All I have replaced is the timing gears and camshaft. They are one tough engine.
