New to the Olds family
Greetings and salutations everyone.
My name is Jay. I'm 36 years old. I work as a mechanic in Minneapolis and live here in the city as well.
I just bought a 1952 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday coupe. It's a nice car, complete running driver. I bought the car from a good freind of mine who had owned it for the previous five years.
The car is a very mild custom. The trim was removed and all of the holes welded up when it was repainted in '09. It also has 2" lowering blocks in back to give it a better stance (better looking at least- we'll see about driving...). Overall,it's a very nice car and I'm hoping to just drive and enjoy it without having to work on it/ monkey with it too much.
Prior to buying this you might have called me a Ford guy although personally I still can't forget my first love/ first real car an early 70s Nova. This is my first GM car in the last 10 years. I currently also have a '55 Ford F100 with a big block and a '39 Ford two door sedan that is mostly original. I shouldn't have bought this Olds until the '39 sold and now I'm hustling to sell it before winter. The deal on the Olds was just too good to pass up.
Looking forward to soaking up some knowledge around here.
Here's a couple of photos of the Olds.
