New Nubie with a 1977 Toronado
Hello everyone my mane is Linden Luckey and I am one of the fewborn in Washington resident. I am 75 years old and purchased my first Oldsmobile a 77 toronado brougham I think it is car number 83 since I started driving. The car is a 141k “ barn find that was supposed to be a 41k car but If you can’t see and feel for yourself you can’t complain.
I am finding that buying a classic is not a trip to the parts store when you need something like a rear bumper. Two online scams that did not deliver but still took my money, another place took my money sent me pics but have not delivered and lastly the guy in Oklahoma offered to send me a core for $1,100 along with the chrome shop in Tacoma WA that wanted $3,500 to start with more when the job was done (this is just for the center section)
So my quest has led has led me here and if you see a Tangerine Toro driving around western Washington or Oregon with a 4x8 for a rear bumper with really cool Appliance dealer option wheels wave as you go by so I can see what a rear bumper should look like.
Thanks
Linden

Welcome to the site Linden! We talked already and I can't help with the bumper. But I'm sure everyone here would like to see pictures of your car. Is it the model with the wrap around rear window?

Welcome Linden. Sorry to hear you've gotten jerked around. Good luck finding what you need. You might try writing a request in the parts wanted section.
I haven't seen a wooden bumper in a while, used to be more common where necessary.

www.toronado.org is where the Toronado crowd hangs out. Someone there may be able to help you find the bumper.
There's a couple guys on here who deal in southwestern desert sheetmetal and chrome too.
Whatever you do stay away from that scam artist in OK. Google "billions & trillions" or "biker fox" and you will find what that freakazoid is all about. How he's avoided prison time I don't understand.
