New member with a question - '66 442 pulleys

Hello, glad to be a part of this group. I live in the Nashville TN area and in the process of restoring (as a nice daily driver) a 1966 442. It was an original 4 speed that was converted into auto, and engine was replaced with a 350. I purchased a correct 400 and Muncie M21. Got a guy doing most of the work for me and he's come up with a problem.
The pulleys don't seem to line up properly (using the pulleys off the 350).
He would like to see the pulley set up on a 400. Would anyone out there send some detailed pics of their '66 400 showing the pulleys? This is a non-air car.
I've searched the internet and haven't been able to find pics good enough to help him.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Welcome.

Unfortunately, you have a couple of problems. First, Olds used three different length water pumps, and the pulleys must match the pump length. Second, the 64-67 cars used completely different accessory brackets from the 68-up cars, so pulleys from a 350 are unlikely to be correct anyway.

Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it - seems we have a mystery to solve. Guess I'll need to purchase some pulleys and brackets....fun, fun, fun.

Either use water pump, pulleys and brackets for the 400, or for the 350. The early pump is 5.12" height and the 350 is probably 5.59" but might be 6" height. You are best off with the early pulleys and pump because there isn't much distance between the block and the radiator on a 66-7 car.

The outer groove of a 2-groove crank pulley in 66-7 will be about 1.25" out from the damper and the corresponding groove's centerline of the water pump pulley will be inset about 1.6" from the mounting surface for the pulley on the water pump. This is the groove placement for a single-belt arrangement in 66-7 (alternator only).
