Has anyone ever compiled a correct and definitive chart or list that describes what crank pulley and water pump pulley are compatible with each length water pump? If so, could/would someone please provide a link to that info.?!? I have a pretty good idea on some of the combinations, but certainly not all.
Joe P., as moderator, and to the parts sellers, this might be something you guys already have in your files. If not, any chance of compiling such a list or chart? This info. would prove to be an invaluable tool for many who are doing engine swaps, conversions or to just clear up some misconceptions. It seems like every day there is a new thread from a frustrated member that has either the wrong pulley or incorrect water pump length.

Chris Witt compiled such a list on a spread sheet. He will email members a free copy if requested. I personally find it hard to follow along with because he has so many listed, but it is a good tool to reference for measurements.

 

Any pulley sets 68-76 are easy to work with, Be it with or without ac.
It's the older 5" pump stuff that is hard to follow, and the 307/smog pump stuff is equally annoying.

 

I personally only use the 5.6" or the 6" pumps. Makes life easy for me.

5.6" pump With A/C: use KF water KC crank , and KH 2 groove steering pulley.
5.6" pump non AC: use KM water KJ crank, and KG single steering pulley ( or just using a 2 groove steering pulley with one bare sheave would probably be fine as well)

6.1" pump with AC use KS crank , KE (3 groove pulley) and KA or KH (2 groove) steering

 

You can also run non-A/C brackets with a 6.1" pump and 3 groove pulleys. I will have to check the stampings on that as I don't remember off hand. But they are the diesel pulleys.

I have 2 complete heat only set-ups.
A 1970 one no fan and 1973 with 4 blade fan. Includes ps pump, wp, crank pulley, bolts, and brackets.

 

Seems to me that He's just looking for info, so people stop asking the same question 1000 different times.

The info can be found in the assembly manuals but they go by PN not water pump length that you and I can easily measure.

I would LOVE to have the time to polish that list but alas...
