Hello all, getting back into the Olds habit after 30+ years. My first car purchase was a ‘68 Cutlass Supreme and my sixth and latest is a ‘68 442 Holiday Coupe.

Just completed the sale and locked down transport, I should be receiving it on Saturday.

I am in the eastern Pennsylvania area, hope to run into some of you down the road.

Scott

Welcome to the site and congrats on buying the 68. When you do get it post some pictures inside and out. A great depth knowledge resides on this site so if you have a question to ask go for it.

Welcome aboard, Scott. That's a sharp ride! And Look! The W36 stripe is in the correct location! Which color is that?

@BackInTheGame Personally I am totally colorblind and have to rely on my wife for that stuff. The previous owner (whom I did not meet) called it Turquoise, but I believe it is very close to Teal Frost instead. I have not seen the cowl tag yet either, picking up Saturday. Opionions welcome...

i just call it blue...😎

Welcome. I'm going to say it's either Teal Frost, which will be "FF" on the cowl tag, or Ocean Turquoise, which will be "KK" on the cowl tag. Teal Frost is lighter than the Turquoise, so, I'm leaning towards that color. It looks too dark to be Teal Blue. But hey, I'm color blind as well, so what do I know!

Here are some pics around the outside, interior and engine. I have about 75 detailed pics from the third-party inspection service, but I won’t post all that unless needed in the future.

By decoding the VIN 344878M370018 this is identified as a true 442 with 400 ci “G” block and “C” code heads. A RamRod air cleaner, hoses, and air ducts have been added, Quadra-Jet on iron manifold and stock exhaust manifolds, transmission is Muncie 4 speed with console, Console mounted vaccum gauge, gauge cluster with TikTocTac, rear sway bar, traction bars, and a 3.42 posi rear end, finished off with a welded 3 in exhaust with Flowmasters. Power brakes, steering, windows, front disk brake conversion, HEI ignition, new paint in 2015, new interior, carpets, headliner are also recent.

It’s been hit in front, one pic shows repair work on the big support in front of the radiator. Probably why the headlights have those gaps.

Gonna need a new one of these

Been hit, shows damage repair welds on the support

Aftermarket horns

Added W-30 goodies

Looks to be a real nice car.
do you mean 400cid “G” code block with “C” code heads? Or at least it should be. But a 50 some odd old car, who knows what it has been through.
super nice, and a great interior. 4 speed, awesome!

yes, “G” block with “C” heads. Looks like I did a little transposing there...

Even Sharper Ride, now that we see some more pics! Congrats on such a nice car. I've been collecting parts and thinking about adding the OAI package to mine, like yours has. I notice a tilt steering column as well, nice! Mine has one also. I'm sorry, but in my first post (#3), I was incorrect about your stripe location Watch out for the Stripe Police! A Colorado car, it shouldn't be too bad in the usual rust spots. Do you know any of it's history? How long it may have spent in CO vs other states with more or less rust exposure? What is the Paint code on the Body Tag? Mine is DD under the repaint that changed the color. The interior of mine, under all the upholstery, etc. is very close in color to yours, but a little more blue. Mine is a little older than yours, having been built the last week of '67 (12E). What's your build date?

Thanks but I will know a lot more and have more answers by the weekend as the car is getting loaded and shipped to me today. Not sure if the CO plate is legit, this car was purchased out of Massachusetts by a local classic car dealer in Wisconsin, whom I purchased it from.

The Stripe Police? Let ‘em come...not scared ha ha. You can clearly see it is not to spec or even without tape issues. Actually looks like the painter tried to add a half inch to both the top and bottom after the Police pulled them.

Don’t care, it’s a DRIVER fellas. Besides, I may switch it to Saffron one day, who knows...
