New member hope thats ok?

Hi everyone, I'm a huge Oldsmobile fan, but I love most anything GM. I don't have a Oldsmobile right now, they are hard to find for a price I could afford (still hoping for one some day) But I did just pick me up a '59 Chevy Apache with a 455 (and olds tranny I think) and was hoping I could get some help/info as I need it during my project. So I hope it's ok by you all that I'm here.

I have had a few projects before, but this is my first big block, and have not looked it over completely yet so still not sure what I'm in for.

Welcome to the site! I haven't seen him post for a while, but we do have a member with a 1959 Chevy Pickup body on a 1974 Cutlass Chassis. Share some pictures with us when you have time. John

Talking Welome to CO

If only GM had used an Olds engine instead of a Pontiac. We would have had a truck like yours.

Here's a picture with the slicks on, other tires were flat. I haven't started it yet, I've been cleaning it up and changing fluids. I found alot of rust in the gas tank, so I'll be getting a new one.

I know a little about the truck, was a long box, frame was cut/boxed to make it a short bed (I have a set of 31/short box emblems to put on it) The rear fenders have been widened 3 inches so the slicks with fit under with out rubbing. There is some rust on the bottom of the doors, and the back corners of the cab.

The motor is a 455 Olds (don't know year or what it's out of) The tranny is out of a olds (not sure year) and it has not bee started for 2 years.

I think the rear end is a ford.

It had a few time slips in the glove box, 1/4 mile 14.3, 1/8 mile 9.3 the owner siad he had better times 1/4 mile 13.8, not sure his 1/8 mile but said he knows he did 9 flat for sure. It has the original front end, so he said it's hard to handle and that kept his times high most the time.
