New member getting started

I've owned and driven several Oldsmobiles over the years and recently bought this '66 442. I had one in High School so it's time to relive the memories, this car had 42,000 miles when I got it and is in pretty good condition. I spent 2.5 days driving it home after the purchase and it was a great adventure. My wife and I went to the local Cruise night and met several people, next adventure is going to Waxahachie to the Texas Olds meeting. Unfortunately I have already started taking the car apart to restore a few things so I won't be bringing it with me but look forward to meeting and learning while there.

Welcome to CO, lots of great members in TX that will help you out I'm sure. My HS car was a 69 Cutlass S, that got me started.

Welcome John.
What great cars the 66 442's are.
I traded for one years ago and miss it
badly, now that it's gone.

You will like the site. A wealth of knowlege
here for sure. Enjoy that bad boy.
Is it a 4-speed car? Sure looks nice.

Yes, it's a 4 speed with Black interior, no console and I believe 3:90 rear end judging by the tach vs speed. My daily driver is a Volt so watching the gas gauge fall quickly toward "E" brought back some other memories. Still worth it though, I enjoyed the drive and it gives you a good perspective on just how far cars have changed.
