New lady here

Hello,I am Katie and just purchased a 1955 Olds 98,a 2 door.I have always had the love of the 1950s and 1960s Olds 98s.Love the body styles. So far I love this one and will be driving it in the spring sometime for the first time.Bought it out of a 2 car bundle deal last night.I am married to a great husband James of 19 years whom is into classic Oldsmobiles as well.He has a 1969 Olds 442 that was his grandfather's whom bought new in 1969

Welcome Katie. You should talk James into signing up too if he isn't already. Happy motoring.

Welcome to C.O. The. Mid '50's Oldsmobiles are great. Most fifties fanatics hang out on the Vintage section. There's also a post called '54- '56 Owners Unite you might want to visit.
By all means ,post pictures of your "98". Larry

Luckily I did not buy it on the spot and did test drive it.Drove nice during the test drive straight as an arrow.Well taken care of and was restored a couple years ago.I know better not to buy on the spot. This one I don't have to pour in the lead additive, the soft valve seats were replaced with the hardened valve seats when the engine was rebuilt during the restoration.

I owned a 64 98 Luxury Sedan when I joined this board many years ago. They are classy cars. Whether you end up with a 63 or 64 make sure it runs well. The transmission used in the early 60s; the Slim Jim Rotohydramtic, is problematic. Finding someone to rebuild it correctly is difficult.

BTW, here is a 63 98 that has been for sale for months in my area:
