New here

I've always found that owners clubs are the BEST possible source for help and advice. I'm looking at a 79 Cutlass Salon 2 door with about 80k in what appears to be very good condition. The only options are A/C (working), PS and PB with automatic and a 231 v6. Red with white vinyl top and cloth interior. I'm not going to ask opinions on value, as its asking price is worth it to me. If memory serves, I was told that this was a European sourced body. Is that true? Are there any "quirks" with this model and are parts reasonably found? Thanks in advance.

Parts will be difficult to find as next to nothing is repoped. The only thing I would add is check for "bubbles of rust" under the vinyl top. This will be likly located around the windows.
If you decide to get it post pics.

Welcome to the site. I'm assuming that this is the body that you are questioning? There are no after market repro body or trim parts that I know of, however most mechanical parts are available through local auto parts stores or internet sites. I'm not sure of the Euro sourced body statement.

Euro sourced

Yes, it was the body that I thought might be European. Then again, perhaps I'm thinking of the early 80's Buick Riviera.
