New Guy New Mexico (1963 D-88 Holiday)
Hello again!! I tried to introduce myself back in December, but never did see it apear here. I am currently bringing back to life a 63 Dynamic 88 2 door holiday. I was told the car sat for about 10 years or more in the weeds of west Texas before coming to Albuquerque. So far, I have the mechanicals pretty well sorted out, which allows me drive it anytime / anywhere I want to. Still needs paint and to re-upholster the seats. Body is straight as an arrow, no major rust, and all trim in great shape. Glass is 100% with new windsheild. This list goes on and on, so I won't bore you hear. Recently put cragars all around. Wow what a differece these wheels make with the right tires and stance. It's amazing to me how solid this 50 year old car really is.
Comments or question's welcome. Have a great day. Frank.

Welcome. If you'll be keeping and/or restoring the car, reading the service manual is a good place to start.

Yes Dave, the convertible was a beautiful car too. I Havn't seen since I was 16 years old. It was the first car I seriously considered buying back then. I can still remeber sitting in the car, starting it up and all. All I could think of was I love this car but couldn't afford the gas back in 69. So......I bought a corvair instead. Thanks for the reply.

Agreed. The service manual was one of the first things I purchased after I bought the car. Invaluable to say the least. I would not have been able to get her to the shape she is in without it. I removed and cleaned all of the lifters, and replaced the push rodes when I replaced the head gaskets. Whithout the manual, I would have been lost. Same goes transmission/carb set-up. The list goes on and on.
Anyhow, thanks for the reply. I love this olds, and drive it every weekend about 50 miles or so +or-. They don't make them like this anymore. What is your interest in oldsmobiel???

Your 442 is really sweet! Really like your choice of wheels and tire size combo. Are you using air bags in the rear? She really sits nice. I'll be getting some pic's of my 63 as soon as I figure it out.

Actually, I live in Peralta NM. About 15 mi south of Albuquerque. I've been here about 20 Years. I moved from Wallingford Connecticut due to my wifes asthma. The climate has made a big difference in her health. Got to love the weather here. And the rust free cars in this neck of the woods.
When I first moved out here, I couldn't belive how many older cars were still on the road. Rubber parts don't hold up well due to the UV and all, but the bodies/sheet metal hold up well.

A few more pics
This car came with chrome wheel well and rocker panel trim too. I've removed them in preparation for paint. I'm still in process of figuring out how to remove the trim on the rear fins, and the Dynamic 88 scripts on the front fenders. Not shure when I'll exactly do that, because I'm having so much fun driving it.
