Help with my 1/4 window

I have a 1956 Olds two door hardtop. Any tips on removing the chrome trim from the 1/4 window ? Any tips on removing the vent window from the housing ?

Welcome aboard

As best as I remember the vent window is released by removing the inner door panel then remove the bolts above the wind wing handle, then pull the whole unit up and out,it's quite large as the supporting rod is about two feet long. I hope this helps it's been about thirteen years since I did this so there may be some differences but once into it it should be ovious....Lost in the fifties ....Tedd

I have removed the chrome trim from glass where the trim is pressed on with a glass setting tape. I first soaked the taped area with a solvent that loosens the tar like tape. WD40 works. Then with a razor knife dig into the tape and keep scraping out what you can. Eventually the trim piece will get loose and can be pulled off the glass.

help with vent window

I have the vent window out of the car, what I am wanting to do is remove the actual glass and trim leaving me with the large chrome piece to send to the chrome shop. It looks like it may be held in by some press fitting or possibly pop rivets.
