new guy here
Hey all,
I recently bought my first Oldsmobile, Also my first classic american.
It's a 98 from 1972 with the 455 BB. The car itself is in a decent condition for a vehicle that is almost 40 years old and has had various owners. It runs/drives great allthough it needs a fair amount of work to look like new
Im from the Netherlands, and there are not many people here that drive classic american cars so good advice can be hard to get. Plus the fact that I have to drive atleast a 100 miles to get to a parts dealer, so I usually order my parts online. (summitracing/Rockauto)
Guess that's it
I'll upload some pictures next time.

Welcome Guttermouth, I hope you enjoy the site. There are very many knowlegable Oldsmophiles residing here so you should not lack for help when asking for it!
A 1972 98 is such a large car to be driving around those small streets! I remember watching a 1969 Chevy Caprice cruise by in Centum Ansterdam and we were simply amazed! Conversley, some of the cars were 1/2 the size of a Smart car (which you could probably put in the trunk of that Olds).

Welcome to CO
Just goes to show you that Oldsmobiles are great cars. There found everywhere. We have Russian members, Swedish Members, English, French, and many others, even one from Iran. There are other members from the Netherlands as well so your not alone. Post some pictures when you get a chance
thnx for al the reply's guys
I sure do get alot of attention, the sound of a v8 brings a smile on most people's faces around here.
And it's definetly a pain sometimes to find a decent parking spot or just to navigate around town or places I'm not familiar with, but so far so good
I also have my truck licence so I have a bit more feeling for larger cars
I'm currently placing new Coilsprings/shocks all around and replacing the upper/lower balljoints at the wishbones (helluva job) just did the front left side, I'll continue tomorrow or something after work. So I'll wait just a bit for the pictures so it shows better
