Glass Supplier

Restoring 71 442 one owner believe it or not. Originally bought in Hazard,KY. I would like to get some advise on where to purchase replacement front and rear glass. Good story: While car was being transported on flat bed to the body shop the back window blew out. And earlier I was worried how I was going to get it out! Don't know who was behind us but I bet that was something. Luckly? it was a country road. Guess the summer heat dried the seal. One more thing. Are the inner fenders same color as body?
Thanks everyone!

I know you can get the front glass from safe lite they said they could get them for a couple hundred bucks. Im not sure about the rear im sure someone on here has some for sale. The inner fender is the same color when you open the hood. Up under the wheel well liner im not so sure i believe mine where a factory primer. If you are doing a factory correct resto i would do your homework on new glass just to be safe.

Thanks for the reply. I spoke with Vintage Glass in CT. Have both front and read $500+100 shipping to KY. Includes antenna and tint on front. Was checking to see who was advisable. I will check on the fender color.

Not sure about a back glass for Olds. I know Skylark/Chevelle use the same back glass but the Olds is squared off at the bottom corners.

If you still have paperwork for that car, Kurt Shubert (wmachines) is compiling a list of dealer codes and would be happy to have yours.

The summer of 1969, my folks took off thru the toe of Virginia and Eastern Kentucky headed to St. Louis. This was in the days before I-40 and I-64. My old man wanted to see the Gateway Arch, so here we went in my Mama's reasonably new 69 Impala- with no airconditioning. Our first overnight stop was in Hazard or Harlan, can't remember which, but I remember we stayed in the Black Diamond Motel and had breakfast in its restaurant the next morning. I ordered pancakes, thinking they'd be small like the ones Mama made.

Those damn pancakes covered the whole plate, and my daddy said he was paying for those pancakes and I'd better eat them all. Like I could have known they'd be plate-sized.
