New guy here with a 1959 Ninety Eight Sceni-Coupe
Hi!
Glad I found this forum, as it looks like this is the place to be to discuss old Olds!
I just got myself a survivor 1959 Ninety Eight Holiday Sceni-Coupe with original paint and absolutely original, unrestored, throughout. This car has been sitting in a barn for the last 10 years, so it will need some mechanical attention, but I plan on leaving the rest as is, with the little scars and scratches. The floors have absolutely NO rust at all, and in years in the hobby, having owned more than 10 1950's cars, this is the first time I have one this solid. It was originally sold in the southern USA, but was imported into Canada in the 1980's from what I know.
Car came with an incredible amount of parts, including NOS fenders, etc. I am psyched and cannot wait to get started on this project!
I still have to get her out of the barn later this week, so I will have better pics then.

We had another member join several months ago that inherited his grandfather's 59 98 two door hardtop. It was a black original low mileage car that had been in storage for a long time. He was posting his progress regularly but I haven't seen a post from him in months. The interior in the car was like new after he cleaned it up. It was a fully optioned car with factory AC.

Yes, THIS. Search "Lombardo" and you should pull up his thread. Can't recall offhand if he included any details that would contribute to know-how for you, but definitely a thread you should check out. That is one bad-*** car in black, and he took some rather artful pics of it (especially the one in the garage with the interior lights on). I like your car a lot, too, but his has the edge on yours just because of the black.

Yes, I had seen that thread too. Stunning car indeed. I prefer the green, though, so to each their own, I guess. Black is classy, but the fifties cars were so flamboyant and colorful, so all-black is certainly the dullest color I could ever imagine. Anyway, I'll get back to that thread to check it out again. Thanks!

Hey man, glad to see you here and that you have such a beauty to share. So few of these still out and about, but love hearing when another one surfaces...especially in such good shape. Get those pics uploaded when you can. I will be following for sure!

I'm just busting your chops. However, I would offer up that white is the dullest color imaginable. I should know, my Starfire is white. I HATE that color on a car. It really is the equivalent of saying, "I give up, just pick something that sucks."

Well, get it out in the sunlight so we can see it better, then!

Hahaha! Yeah, I think you might be right about white cars!
Should be tomorrow or Wednesday at the most that we'll get the car out of the barn. Lots of pics to come.
