Cool New Guy with a 92 Custom Cruiser

Hey everyone. I just recently purchased a 92 Custom Cruiser. Its in pretty good shape but does need things here and there. Im pretty sure it has about every available option on it, even a factory CD player. I even got the window sticker and owners manual as well as the factory repair manual. There were just over 4,300 of them made so I joined hoping to gain insight on where to find parts.

I spent seven years working as a GM factory trained auto tech. Mostly in a Buick / GMC dealer. I hope I can help just as much as I ask for help.

I'm in the SW portion, Dayton area. I should clarify a little, I haven't been trained for about 8 years now. I've been out of the biz for a while.

You aren't really looking for a muffler are you Sandy?
I knew I shouldn't of said anything.
Rob would have to show his '72 has one.
Just something else that would have to be painted chebby orange.

Where would that Vista be?
The Redgoat has one.

Welcome aboard. Nice wagon, I wouldn't mind finding one as well but those full size 90's ones have all but disappeared around here. Post more pics of it when you can.

I know what you mean, I looked for a few weeks before finding this one. I found a couple of Buick Estates but they wanted too much for them. I picked this one up a few miles away for pretty cheap. I did a little research and found out they only made 4347 CC's in 1992.

I've seen some mint Roadmaster's too but, like you said, they sold for more $ than listed in KBB. How did you find yours? Local paper, craigslist, or ? I see one Custom Cruiser on ebay right now, but it has velour seats. I would prefer leather since I have two little mess makers and it would be easier to keep clean.

I am on my 2nd 92 wagon. The first light blue with cloth interior and 5.7. The second one is maroon with leather.....always wanted leather and also has 5.7 I love my wagon. Very dependable. Body parts interchange except for grille and front facia. These are turning up in the junkyards now and then but yes they are scarce.

I assume that, like the Buick wagons, they were made from 91 though 96? Any years better than others?

Actually the Olds were only made until 1992.

I found it on Craigslist. Lucky find, he had just posted it within a few hours of me looking. Mine does have leather and the 5.7L engine.

Nope.... I'm not looking for one. Didn't even know such a thing existed until this thread! Evidently the car doesn't need one for the AC to work, so what the heck! I am curious now though... what is it's purpose, and why would they take one off????? Is this something she needs to have??? See what you guys started?

Again... what part of NO CHEBBY ORANGE aren't ya getting???? Besides, it would have to be beautiful silver!!! I was gonna pay Redgoat to take one off a vista out Bainbridge way.......
