New found olds love

Hi all!

I bought a 1971 cutlass S coupe last year and now I'm starting to dig into the project.

It currently has:

1969 seasoned 455 big block bored 0.030 over
10 to 1 compression
mildly ported c cast iron heads
headers
850 mighty demon double pumper
griffin 4 core radiator
turbo 400 with shift kit
custom drive shaft
8.5" corporate axle with 3.73 richmond gears with auburn pro gear
edelbrock 4 link suspension

My end goal is to create a fast and reliable sports car. That can handle as well as burn rubber in a straight line. I love this body style so I'd rather invest the money into an older car rather then buy a new corvette.

Upgrade in progress:

B and M stealth ratchet shifter

Possible upgrades:

6 speed tremec vs gear vendor overdrive?
ported aluminum heads with big valves
488 or 496 stoke?
Pro touring frame and suspension?

Any advice is always welcome!

Beautiful car, sounds like you already have a nice reliable head turning classic already,

It is nice! But I feel like the engine could run just a bit better plus I need to get rid of the stock connecting rods! And the body needs some work... too many extra air vents aha. I drive the car a lot and put a decent amount of time on the highway so not having the overdrive is getting slightly annoying!

Welcome, I;m just 45 minutes North of Toronto!
A few guys around the GTA with early 70's , lots of info here. The 6 speed Tremec would certainly change it up.
