New to forum, owner of a 1966 jetstar 88

Purchased a barn find olds. The only rust i found was under the front hood trim an 2 nickel sized holes in the trunk pan. Painting the sides with bright orange flake and the hood/trunk with purple metalflake.

Used gloss grape over metallic silver for racing stripes on top of a rich dark purple metalflake base.

we bought a panel of lace from the local fabric store, took awhile to find one without alot of flowers in it. Tape it down, spray the paint about 12-18" above it.

I've gotta cleanup the wire harness and get a 4 barrel carb for thr 330.
i painted the compartment black and the frame with por-15.

Did you spray the POR 15 or brush it on? I've used it before and it works GREAT, even if you have to brush it on!

i brush it on, less mess. Once the paint is done, i get to tackle the interior and trunk. My wife bought me some lizzard skin to coat the floors.

i shipped a tri-carb manifold to that vicinity a couple years ago for about $75.the tri-carb is a little heavier than the 4 barrel.if you can't find one closer/cheaper i will have it.i'm not actively trying to sell it.jc

This project is on hold until May, gong to Florida for work. I'm ordering more flake and clear coat to finish for the car show season.
I'll be using Wet Wet Extreme for my top coat clear.

Just got a shipment of lime metalflake from Dipspade and just had to get it laid out before I shipped out to Florida.

Yes mine being from South East North Dakota, mine doesn't have much rust either, just surface rust in few places and front floor pan has 2 holes. It's definitely a project, but all the trim is there, no dents, has original glass with no cracks. Only thing missing is the original 330 rocket. Here are pics of mine
