New to the forum from Harrisonburg, Virginia

Hello everyone. My name is Brandon, I'm new to the forum and have a green 71 Cutlass 2 door hardtop I have been restoring since 2006, the car has been in my family since 1983 when it was bought from the original owner. I'm currently working on my finishing details and hope to have the car finished and on the road by the end of this year.

Welcome.

Harrisonburg is a little far from the DC area, but I'll invite you to join Capitol City Rockets, the DC metro chapter of OCA. More importantly, we are planning a tour of the White Post Restoration facility (which is somewhat closer to you) in early Nov, so get the car ready by then!

I will try my best to have some pictures up tomorrow afternoon or this weekend. That sounds awesome Joe I will try my best to see what I can do. One of my biggest snags I have ran in to is I'm waiting on my new interior(seat covers and door panels) to get here which is taking a while because the interior color is jade green and that color they told me was made to order, so hopefully I'll have it soon.

Here are pictures as promised. The car has 115,000 original documented miles. The motor is rebuilt and painted Olds gold, I will post pictures of the engine bay as soon as I take some. Currently I'm still awaiting my interior pieces to arrive to put the interior back in. I also threw a set of pontiac wheels on the rear because I haven't bought a new set of rubbers for the corvette rally wheels and I have not yet decided if I want to use the vette wheels on there or not. Any suggestions for wheels? The car originally had a green vinyl top when it was new which was thankfully taken off sometime in the late 80's to early 90's and the roof was painted white so it didn't rust out the roof and I just completely did away with it. The car is numbers matching with both the 350 and automatic column shift transmission. The windows are tinted with Llumar 20% tint all the way around, I just haven't gotten a chance to do the rear window yet. I changed the rear bumper out with one that has the cutouts for the dual exhaust because I plan to run the Pypes true dual system. Other than those few mods the car is all stock.

Your car looks nice I like the color.

If it were mine I would get rid of the vette rims and either run aftermarket SS1s in your size of choice, 15"SS3s, or the somewhat ubiquitous cragar ss or a torqthrusts variant

Welcome to CO, and thanks for the pics of your good lookin' Oldsmobile. You are very fortunate, you live closer to Joe Padavano than I do. His nickname is "the Rocket Scientist" (to me, and some others) because of his extensive knowledge of our marque. He also happens to be one, if I remember correctly. Contact him with any questions.

Thank you all for the nice replies. I will take a look at all of those wheels and see how I like them. I'm probably going to get rid of the vette wheels. I was feeling them years ago but not so much anymore. Joe sounds like a great guy so I will be sure to contact him with any questions I have.

Thanks,
Brandon

Does anyone know where I can get the throttle cable bushing and sleeve? Part numbers 403410 & 414091. I've searched ebay and all over and GM discontinued them. I haven't had any luck finding them.

Thanks,
Brandon
