Talking New to Classic Olds Forum

Hello,

I am new to this forum, but not to Olds. I have owned 3 Olds Cutlasses which I had to part with. Two of them were '74 Cutlass 'S' models both with the Olds Rocket 350 engines each with 4 barrel carbs and dual exhaust set ups. They were outstanding cars and just recently in July of this year I had to part with my '73 Hurst Olds Cutlass as part of my divorce. In April of this year I acquired a parts car '70 Olds Cutlass 'S' from Colorado that is needing lots of work to become roadworthy again. From my initial cleaning up of all the junk covering the engine(It was sitting in a field for some time) I believe it is a 455. I will post pics of this basket case later. Last week I purchased a '67 Toronado with what I am assuming is the standard interior, and it appears to be a 455 engine as well, (Car hasn't showed up yet via transport) which I am not sure if they came with those back in '67.

Does anybody know off hand who is a good parts supplier for the Toronado, especially the '67? I've been looking around on the net for places but have yet to find a good complete parts supplier out there that deals with the Toronado specifically. Does it exist? Also, does anyone know of a way to use a Performer intake in these cars without having to modify the hood? Any help would or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Steve

Talking Welcome to CO

Steve,

The 67 Toro came with a 425 not a 455. There are some Toro guys on the site and some one will chime in with some information. You might also post your questions on the Toro forum which is a sub-forum under large Oldsmobiles to get better coverage for answers to your questions

The engine is a 455

Thanks for the help, I did some more looking after posting and found other clues in the pics that confirmed it is not the 425 the car originally came with after also referencing an Olds V-8 manual for '67. Thanks again for the help. Is the Toronado forum available to newbies?

Steve

Steve, where are you located? I may have some parts for both the Toro and 1970 if your close enough to Southern Oregon. John

Basket case???

Welcome to CO Steve. How can you call any Oldsmobile a basket case? Come on, they are all worth the effort.
