New to Olds forum from New Zealand!
Hi all, have recently purchased my first Oldsmobile and I love it, its huge! A 1972 Delta 88 2 door pillarless coupe and I believe it may be the only one of this year and model in the country. Its in need of some considerable TLC as it has not been too well looked after prior to my purchase, its road legal and driveable but will be an ongoing project for some time. Looking forward to the info and knowledge here to help me sort it out.

Hi all
Hi to all those above who have made me feel very welcome. Will endeavor to get some photos up but this may take time as I'm not very computer savvy. It was first registered in NZ in 1973 so has been here from new and is left hook. It started life as a 350 then had a chevy diesel v8 fitted which in turn was replaced with a 350 chevy petrol which it now currently still has. Running a th400, not sure if this is std for this year Olds? All in the space of 103000 miles, Phew! its been a busy engine bay for sure. The 350 sbc is tired but I happen to have one in my shed which I have been rebuilding so this will go in it. Its kinda why I bought really as I love the classic style and shape and I have loads of sbc spares from my Camaro and I'm pretty familiar with them.

Fortunately then you won't have much trouble mating the engine to the transmission or the frame mounts as that seems to be two of the bigger troubles with fitting a bowtie into the Oldsmobile engine bay. And I don't think that there were ever any engine substitutions made in the early seventies like that from the factory, at least not here in the U.S. Welcome to our site.
