New Bee -- '62 Starfire Conv.

Hey all. I just want to say hello. I recently bought a '62 Starfire convertible (as my thread title would suggest) in fairly good shape. Hopefully this forum will be of some help solving some mysteries as I am not fluent in Olds engineering lol. I also own and rat rod restored a '68 Ford F100 long bed. I am also currently tinkering with a '62 Austin Healey Sprite and trying to stuff a '95 Miata engine into it Thanks for any future help with answering my questions!!

Welcome to CO! Like the color combo of the SF. You will find these cars have one hell of an engine! The SF is what is known as a "B" body car. It is the 88 chassis/body with the upscale trim package.

Welcome aboard, nice car! We need to keep these big Oldsmobiles on the road. Post some more photos when you can.

Thanks for the compliments . It needs a paint job pretty bad and there are some minor blinker and heater issues but, all in all, it is in really nice shape. She starts right up, steers nice and floats down the road like a waterbed lol

I love a black 62 Starfire and yours is a convertible to boot. Very nice. It takes time to get all the little stuff working on a 52 year old car.

Very true! Alas, winter will soon be upon us and there will lots of cold, dark evenings to tinker in the garage . I will address the majority of the things then. As for now, I am just enjoying driving it to work a couple of days per week ... at roughly 4 gallons to the mile hehe ...
