New 1969 442 Convertible Owner from Cincy OH

I have been lurking around here for a little while. If I count the 1985 Cutlass I owned awhile back this is my second Olds. We got this 1969 442 vert to replace a 1963 Ford Falcon convertible and it really is quite the upgrade. The restoration was really well done and completed a couple of years ago. The previous owner had put a wing on it; which was the first thing to go. Looking forward to fixing a couple small things, but overall we are quite happy with the car.

Wow nice 69 A-body and officially welcome to the "Club" Picture ( circa 1971) of my 69 bench seat base model.

Very nice. Lots of '69 people here, including me! The '68 and '69 years are pretty sharp. My very first car was a '69 holiday coupe, same color as your convertible. Show more pics when you can!

Lol therobski, I love the photo. I will have to take and post a pic of the car with my 1968 Triumph that I restored in memory of my dad.

From another Ohioan with a '69 vert to another, welcome. That was the original color of mine as well.

Yeah, to your point, we nearly passed on this one because of the wing. He said that he just liked the look so he drilled the holes and put it on. The previous owner kept some extra paint from the restoration and I had already spoken to my body man before buying it to get an idea on the price.

We wanted a car that walked the performance/luxury line and thought this one fit the bill perfectly with its understated good looks. The other thing was that we wanted one that was already done and could be enjoyed now.
With wing:

Nice 442 and WELCOME!

Not sure what it is, maybe the chrome running up the outside edges of the rear fenders, but the '68-'69 Olds A-body 'verts have much sexier "hips" than any of the other GM A-body 'verts IMO.

I think it's the flared quarters and radiused wheelhouses.

Very nice! My first car back in '74 was a '69 442 convertible in Aztec Gold with the gold interior...still miss that car.

This is a pic of my first car - same color combination only a holiday coupe instead of a convertible! Randy C.

Very cool picture. Mine also came originally with a white top. The previous owner preferred the black, a change I think I also prefer. Not that we ever really plan to have the top up.

Thank you for all welcoming responses. Looking forward to meeting some of you in the future.
