need some advice about 4 barrel upgrade

Hey all,

I have a 69 olds delta 88 with the 455 in it. I have finally managed to get her running after being parked for the past 15 years and have a packrat living under the hood building a nest around the engine. Too my amazement that caused all of the lines, hoes, wires to not dry rot and everything was preserved. I've converted the points system to a new non-points system with a new coil, plugs and wires.

The original 2 barrel carburetor is junk and needs to be replaced so I want to upgrade to a 4 barrel along with a new intake manifold. what are your experiences with different brands, things to look out for, stay away from. Recommendations. Company's to order from everything. Looking to order in the next 48 hours so let me hear it guys!!

That should get you started. A nice dual plane with a medium sized vac secondary carb. Good luck. You should do a search on this subject on this site. It has been debated ad nauseum.
