I am running Weld Racing Street Stars. They are 15" x 5.5" in the front and 15" x 10" in the rear with 5" back spacing. The tires I have now are 205/75/15's in the front and 275/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials in the back. Right now I ran this set up with my stock rear axles with no issues. Right now I am running a Ford nine inch that is an inch narrower than stock with no issues. It tucks the wheels in just a little.

Viscostity Breakown
I know I'm very late chiming in on this but, better late than never. I've been working on race vehicles and Oldsmobile's for almost 40 years. I'm not sure of others here but IMHO, 10w-40 is good for stock street 442 builds and similar engines of that Hp. With all the rebuilds you've done Rob I think I can safely say that your experiencing viscosity breakdown. With the size of the Olds journals it doesn't take long for the oil to overheat and breakdown, I've seen it happen in 5-6 seconds no BS. I run 10w-40 in the summer on low compression engines that might see some light-to-light abuse. Throw high compression, nitrous, or drag racing in the mix and I run 20w-50, after just 1 pass it looks like 10w-30, after back-to-back runs it looks like 5w-20. Also IMO Oldsmobile's need high-pressure, high-volume oil pumps.
