Introduction

Hello to all, just wanted to say it's great to see a message board like this,It is very helpful.I myself just had a 455 built for my 69 442 that had the original 400 in it.Always wanted a 455 street/strip car (442).I see some people have had problems with a certain builder (M) and I have been sweating it out since I made the phone call to that builder and began this venture.I found all the Olds boards after the commitment was made...Damn what have I done I thought, wanted this build for years and didn't do my homework, just went on an old reputation!!Well got the motor, had it installed, and so far this motor is showing no signs of any problems as of yet,but it's still early.I'm breaking it in still,so I just have to keep my fingers crossed.I wanted to get a time on it after the break in......but maybe I shouldn't push my luck.Chances are I will pull the trigger after about 1500 miles.Car feel pretty good up to 3000 rpm's.

468 F block roller motor with 10.3:1 pistons.750 duel feed holley on a performer manifold, divider cut 1''Mondello heads with 5 angle valve job, heads flow 268/207, ports matched to manifold,,cam grind 4 degrees advance built in with 538/538 lift,236/244@050 duration. Mondello restrictors,Studs and Straps,Billet Hei set @ 34 degrees advanced.Exhaust 1 3/4'' headers, 3''collectors 2 1/2'' pipes into 2 chamber flowmasters.....Would a Torker be better for this build.I have this motor in a 69 442.Car also has a street/strip Jacobs 400 turbo, this Trans is more aggressive than the stock trans was. And last the rear is a 3.73 posi. Car is 99.9% street. With the right tires will this car go 12's.

Wish I had the right stuff to be a 100% hands on guy when it comes to building these magnificent machines.I understand most of it,just don't have the facility or tools to get into the heart and soul of this awesome hobby, but it still gets in the blood......One thing I've noticed over the years car people rock!!! Yes I do have to get some pics up.All these Olds websites are interesting and very helpful,I spend too much time trying to read everything.
