I have access!

Just wanted to thank the webmaster. I recently bought a '75 Salon that I love. I started to redo the interior, and found that the reclining seat mechinisms are frozen. Cannot find these parts anywhere. They resemble a storm door pump, or a shock absorber. This is for a Salon only bucket seat. If anyone has ever substituted anything for it, please let me know. I have pics. Cannot even find a part #. Seats are done, and everything is ready to go, except for these.

Thanks, Eric

have you tried spraying them with thrust or penetrating oil let it work a bit and some times they will move.

Reclining Mechanisms

I have tried everything. There is a guy trying to rebuild these things, and he is 50/50 right now about succeeding. I cannot find replacements anywhere!

Glad to see you can post now. Me being the kind of guy that tries to fabricate/fix/rig everything that is broke, I ask if there is a way to get a hydraulic cylinder the same length with the same travel as those in the seats and make some minor adjustments to have replacements?
