Stumbled onto this site after watching That 70's Show and wondering what the awesome station wagon in it was; lo and behold it was a 1969 Vista Cruiser. I've always liked the late sixties muscle wagons, but was absolutely dumbfounded when I first saw the Vista Cruiser. The idea that something so novel actually existed just blew my mind. The muscular front fascia echoing that of the Cutlass, married to such a practical and usable platform as the rest of the wagon body. I have no idea why, but between the acres of simulated woodgrain, the vista roof, automatic transmission, and the overall aggressive front end and V8, 2nd gen Vista Cruisers just resonate with me. Sadly, I am a college student and cannot devote the time, space, or funds to a Vista Cruiser right now (especially considering my Jeep Wrangler is already bleeding me dry
) But down the road I'd love to own one of these wood sided land yachts!

Keep looking. A VC may show up cheap when you least expect it. The 68-72 are the most popular and command the most money, but 64-67 look just as good.
Just make sure the roof windows are secure and not rusty. That repair gets expensive real quick.
Now THAT would be a worthy objective! I am a home brewer and sometimes dream about my ideal job. It always involves Oldsmobiles and beer! Welcome to CO.
So, even though you're in Central Vajenya, we can assume you're NOT going to Liberty University?

. I'm in my second year of junior college, living at home (woo homecooked meals and an actual garage
). I actually went to a leadership camp hosted there for a week in HS, and we were in no uncertain terms forbidden from even speaking to girls, on penalty of being kicked out. On top of that, I have a mobility issue that causes me to use a Segway to get around, and consequently I think that was the most inaccessible modern campus I've ever been on. But as far as the VC is concerned, it's not so much an issue of money as it is space and time. I'm going to just be patient and hold out for the perfect 69'. Funny enough, I prefer the grill and tail lights of the 69', with the body style of the 70'-72'. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Welcome to CO, CruiserFan! Understand your being taken with the Vista Cruisers. Yes, they can get pricey. You might want to consider a FlatTop wagon when you get down to it. They ain't bad lookin". LOL! Really glad you are here, and good luck in school.
I'm just going to keep stashing money away a little bit at a time until I can find the ideal 69' and do it up the way I'd like. Besides, all of my garage space is being taken up by the Jeep and one of these (this particular one isn't mine, and mine has a slightly different grille but is the same color and with similar striping:
