Hi From Ontario Canada
I am new to the site and justed wanted to say hi.
Currently I have a 1971 442 Convertible all original that has been in our familily since 1983. Don't know why but it has been just sitting in my garage and for some reason I just got the Oldsmobile bug this summer.
Planning to have it restored this winter and hit the road next summer.
It is really nice to see all the Olds excitment on this site.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks guys and I can hardly wait for spring.
We get to much snow up here.
I will try and figure out the picture thing and maybe post some pics as the project goes along.

Great to hear that its been sitting in a garage instead of out in the weather. Should minimize the headaches you'll encounter with restoration. Great to hear another vert is coming back to life. Welcome aboard and good luck with your project. There are lots of others from Canada on this forum and being from Ont, you know theres probably a lot of wreckers down there that you can still get parts from. If you need help with finding parts let us know. There's lots of suppliers for Olds and GM restoration.

Wow thanks guys.
I am located in Port Perry north of Oshawa.
I have already purchased most of my parts from Fusick.
I preordered and met up with them at Hershey a few weeks ago.
Any one else go and if so did you see the 1968 442 convertible for sale?
If I do try to post pics is there and easy way?

May as well join the Canadian welcome fest and say Hello from Barrie. I've got a '69 442,and have received a lot of help from the folks on this site. Just spent 41/2 hours on her this morning...new front shocks, upper control arms and bushings[still trying to get the smell of burning rubber out of my nose as after 40 years, those old parts don't come off or apart too easily!! You'll get all the help you need from these knowledgable members, just ask! Derek

Thanks Bull Dog and yes they sure are a sweet ride.
Yes Derek before I joined I spent some time cruising the site and I was pretty impressed with the content and help being offered.
If I understand it if I have a transmission question I should post that in that section and I can do so after I am no longer a newbie?

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the nice comments. I have been over in the tranny section asking some (dumb) questions and the help is awesome. Are all Olds owners just angels in disguise??? I can tell very quickly that the way to become good friends is two fold 1. Be an Olds Owner, 2. Post Pics
