Hi. I'm new to this forum.

I live in Rockglen Saskatchewan Canada. I'm recently retired and finally have time to work on my 1965 F85 Oldsmobile Sport Coupe. I'm going to do a complete frame off restoration on the car. I joined this site to gather information and recieve input on this project. I could use all the guidance you can offer...on where to source parts, technical information, original equipment, etc. I would appreciate your time and wealth of experience. Thanks. Tom McKee

Kewl and welcome. The 64-65 F85 Sport Coupes were Cutlass-level trim with the V6 engine. Cutlass models in those years were only offered with the V8. Bucket seats were not normally available on the F85 models, only the higher-end Cutlii. The V6 Sport Coupe was the one exception. Note that unlike the other F85s, the Sport Coupe got the Cutlass side trim also.

Ok. Thanks. This is a 330 V8 car with buckets and center consol, 2 door post. It's not a sport coupe if they were only V6?

33527 on the cowl tag is the model code for a V6 Sports Coupe. An F85 V8 Club Coupe would be 33427. A Cutlass Sport Coupe would be 33827. The bench seat was a credit option on the V6 Sport Coupe, as shown below.

What's the VIN?

Welcome fellow Saskatchewanian! I'm in Candle Lake and have a 65 F85 Cutlass. There can't be a lot of 64/65 F85s in Sask! Have fun with your restoration. Pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. When I bought the car, the original engine and transmission were out of the car, so I was only going by what I was told by previous owners. Likely, it was originally a V6 Sports Coupe with bucket seats....not a 330 V8 with a bench. Am I reading this correctly?

Great looking car! Love the color!
Whats does the interior look like?
I’m a big fan of 65’s and really like the post cars.

I don't believe they made a V6 for this car.

If the car has a 330 now, it's been swapped in. That car was originally a V6 Sport Coupe, one of 6,141 made in 1965.

Ah, that one is a Canadian-built Cutlass Holiday Coupe. Canadian cars used unique cowl tags through the 1967 model year, and unique VINs through the 1966 model year.

Thank You for letting me know some info on this parts car. Would it have been built with a bench or bucket seats? When I got the car, it has bucket seats, but not original equipment....the mounts didn't quite fit and there is some poorly fabricated hardware bolted onto the seat and floorboards to attach the seats. Just curious if these seats may have been from another Olds Cutlass with factory buckets.

Thank you for your warm welcome to this forum. It's great this site is here and available for gathering information from experienced people. I much appreciate your time and consideration. I have started a new thread under "Major Builds and Projects" titled "New Build on a 1965 2 door post". I will post pictures there of the project and hope to hear your thoughts and suggestions. I'm looking for some sheet metal parts if anyone can help me out. Thanks again. Tom

950 trim code is black bucket seats with the Cutlass (as opposed to F85) upholstery pattern. A bench seat was not available in the 1965 Cutlass Holiday Coupe or convertible, only buckets.
