Welcome to the forum, glad to have you aboard. Your ride looks cool, definitely a lot nicer to drive around in that than most new cars.

i should know the answer to that and don't. i am thinking they are the same but not sure. my dad has had around 10 88s and 98s from 1981 to 83. he has bad luck with deer and totaled everyone of them. we have changed more finders and fiberglass front pieces than i can count. i just can't remember if we ever went from 98 to 88 with the finders. i will ask my dad, he will know.

ps, welcome.

80-84 88 and Ninety Eight and 1985 88 fenders are the same; the Custom Cruiser wagon's are different. Trouble is all those cars are being crushed at an alarming rate.

Headliner is a common problem on GM cars of this time. Not a difficult fix. You can do it yourself with a little time and effort.

What's up with the driver side headlights?

I'm guessing this car had wire wheel covers. If it's 4-3/4" bolt pattern, a set of chrome 15x7 Olds Super Stock II wheels will set that car off nice. They were available for Deltas.

Looks like you're in the hot steamy Deep South. Hope you're far enough inland that hurricanes don't maul you.

Welcome to the forum. Nice car. Always good to see other 4-door Deltas being maintained.

One piece of advice I have, treat your interior gently, and try to protect it as much as possible. That shade of blue (I have the same color interior) is very hard to find in salvage yards.

I had been doing well maintaining the interior, until the bodyshop that was painting the car, tore all 4 arm rests. There is a solid plate, maybe metal, under the paded top of the armrest, be careful taking the armrests off!

You may want to look at the same era of Buick. I do not know if fenders are similar, but there is a Buick door on my Delta and all the body lines on the door are the same, but shh, don't tell anyone!

Is there a thread on here, or a link that explains how to do the do-it-yourself fix?

Hi and Welcome to our site! Looks like you have some work ahead of you, but she will be worth it! I like your car - I had 2 85 Deltas. Loved that plush interior! Nothing like the ride of a big Olds, lol! Glad you joined us. These guys are very nice and helpful and will explain things in great detail, so don't be afraid to ask questions!!

Welcome to CO w/your big ol' Oldsmobile! Those are really neat looking, and I bet they do ride great. Met Car Designer and his '83 at this year's Old's Nationals in Sturbridge - shows what they can look like when "fixed up"!!!

Cool car. SS wheels and exhaust work would be good starting points for your project.
