Hey

Hi! My name is James Simpson. I've visted the forums for a long time and finally decided to register and get involved. Live in Lander, Wy. Have a 1964 Oldsmobile Super 88, which I've owned for about 8 years. Got the car out of Sheridan, Wy from a guy who bought it from his highschool buddy whos family purchased it in Sheridan in 64.

The car is mostly original, with a white body and a Seafoam Green Interior. Car is straight with little rust. Used to be a driver, but turning it into a street/strip machine. Has the stock 394. Put a 770 Holley on it, Electric fuel pump, MSD Ignition Kit and eliminated the points.

Currently working on the rear end. Pulled it, sand blasted it and had it powdercoated. Going with 4.10 gears, 35 spline spool and pro stock axles. When this part is done it will have four wheel disc brakes and be ready to roll!

After that it'll be onto the engine and body.

There is more to say, but I don't want to drag on.

Can't wait to get involved. I'll have to get some pics taken and post them!

Good luck with your build ,I hope that transmission will hold up to what your intension's are for it. Some held together under drag applications, most didn't, you could get lucky....Tedd

I am hoping everything will hold up for this season of drag racing, my first , but it is hard to tell how hard a run down the track can be on an older car.

My future plan with the motor and trans is to pull em and have the motor rebuilt by Ross Racing Engines and have them put a 400 behind it. Hopefully, I can start that project around Dec or Jan.
