help with air cleaner housing PLEASE !

Hello olds folks,
Can some one please tell me was the snorkel on the air filter housing for a 1965 V8 4bbl on the passenger side or the drivers side ?? Hope someone has a 100 percent answer ?

1965 air cleaner housing

thanks, i purchased one on eBay listed 65-67 and the seller wants proof that the snorkel was not on the drivers side in 1965... thanks again !

A picture could be right or wrong.
The 1965 Inspector's Guide shows all of the air cleaners with details including the orientations.

Can't you just turn the housing and put the snout anywhere you want?

Cosmetically and functionally, no. The connection for the PVC hose is on the back side of the snorkel, so to get OEM connections to fit.....

Also, some (most?, all?) of the air cleaners have "FRONT" stamped in the top of the housing to aid the unsure.
