Hello From West Virginia

Hello! My name is Nick, and I got my hands on a 1973 Delta 88. I think I may put it on here to sell. It seems there's no one around my way with shared interests in Olds!

That is too bad that you are considering selling it. Oldsmobiling isn't for everyone though. If you're having trouble with it post a thread and ask for some help, that's why we're here. Post some pics when you get a chance.

Thank you so much! I put up an ad in the classifieds. Is there any advice you could give me for trying to sell on here?

I've got a '73 Custom Cruiser. I haven't found the cost of routine maintenance items (tune-up, oil change, etc.) to be any more than any other car, new or old. Parts are easy to get.

I'm curious. What's getting pricey?

Yes. Don't mention that it's costly to maintain!

There are a few of us on here in WV. The mechanical parts aren't too costly, but if you gotta pay someone to do the labor, any car is expensive when it needs work.

Haha I just meant gas, and the occasional parts. As someone with a low income, everything thing is pricey. Thanks for the advice!

Also, nice to see someone else from WV!

That is a different story. One thing these cars are not is gas-sippers. If you're using your '73 as a daily driver, then, yes, the 12 or 13 mpg it probably gets gets old.

Have you posted your car for sale on Craigslist? If not, then you need to. You should also post it for sale on free on-line search engines like AutoTrader.

Yes Craigslist is a good place to sell stuff, just make sure you tell people to call you directly. I can't tell you the amount of text messages I get to my cell phone telling me they will give me asking price without seeing anything, and then try to scam me into giving them personal information like bank account #'s etc.

x2

I don't know how many times people have tried to scam me when I sell stuff on Craigslist. Luckily I know for a fact that I don't have an Uncle living in Botswana.

I'm headed to Bridgeport tomorrow through Friday to help out one of our Service Centers. Been many years since my last feet on the ground in West Virginia.

This why we own an Olds, we are non-conformists. The only one that needs to have an interest in it is you.
