Talking Hello from So Cal

I recently purchased a 1962 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Holiday Coupe for my father as a surprise birthday gift. He owned one in the early 70's and told me that out of all the cars he owned that was his favorite. My family and I presented the car to him this Thanksgiving and he was absolutely floored. The grandkids all piled in the car with with him and my mom and wanted to go for a ride. Unfortunately, my mother would not let any of them go for a ride because the car did not have any seat-belts and some of the kids needed carseats. So........, one of the first things on the list of things to do and fix will be how to install seat-belts. The car looks great, but like all classic cars there are several mechanical things to address. I also have several things that I need to install/add that did not come with the car.

Anyway, I joined the forum to learn more information about the car, and possibly to relay some information to other "newbies" like myself. I have included a picture below, and I will also be posting a picture of a donor car that I purchased for parts in the "parts for sale" thread.

Rich (aka Beers)

Wow beautiful car! I love 62's. I took my driving test in a 4 door 98 long ago.
What a great gift.
Good luck

You sure don't see them everyday. Nice car.

Unless of course, you own one.

Grandma has good sense. I remember standing up on the front seat of our 62 Biscayne when I was a kid going down the turnpike. I don't ever remember wearing a seatbelt when I was a kid. Now I wear them religiously. Nice car, your dad is blessed, hope he gets lots of enjoyment out of the Olds.
