Hello from Charlotte, NC
Hi guys,
I have been lurking for a long time and doing research on the Olds i wanted to get. I decided i wanted a 53-57 olds four door for the whole family to drive an enjoy.
I settled on a 55 Holiday 4 door project here in town. The frame and floors are all solid with surface rust only, the body has no damage or rust that i can find. It is a Super 88 and has power steering, power brakes, a 2barrel (i think) and a radio!
The interior looks like a war zone, but that's actually good because i planned to modernize the interior anyway.
I need to go through the fuel system, brakes, exhaust, and fix the tranny before i can take it for a shakedown run. At my current pace, that should be about 2015
Anyway, i'm anxious to participate with you on restoring my Rocket!
Thanks,
Ben

Welcome aboard, that's going to be one exceptional ride when completed.
A Super Holiday should have come with a 4bbl but could have been special ordered with a 2bbl, they did that back in the day. Either way thats an great find. How about a shot of the engine compartment and we will be able to tell you.
Should you need help there are a bunch of mid fifties enthusiasts on this board just waiting to help....Lost in the fifties....Tedd

Welcome form the left coast
Looks like a great project. Having a solid body saves a ton of money on any restore. Hope the running gear is solid as well, New interior is not that bad of a cost to take on.

Yeah it is supposed to be a 4bbl, but who knows how many swaps happened since 1955?
I'm looking forward to working on it

Definitely a 2bbl. If you have problems with your fuel gauge reading incorrectly that is after you get it running, it could be because of the rubber mounted fuel filter. These sending units are grounded through the gas line. The line probably has grounded it self some where a long it's length but at times you get a bad ground and it will drive you crazy replacing parts that are good only to find out it was a bad ground all along....Tedd
Thanks for the tip Tedd. I never run the plastic fuel filter, but I would have replaced the fuel pump to carb with insulated steel braided rubber. Now that you mentioned that, I will investigate it further
Waterzap: thanks for the offer. I will probably take you up on at soon! What car do you have?
