"Grindhouse Mufflers

Greetings, first time poster here from Idaho. Bought a mostly restored '67 442 from a place in Wisconsin a while back. In their sales literature for the car they said it has Grindhouse Mufflers. I'd never heard of them and searching through you tube and Google have had zip, nada, zero luck finding out what they are. Any information would be much obliged. Thanks.

As another '67 4-4-2 owner, welcome to the site. Honestly I have never heard of "Grindhouse Mufflers", I don't have a clue? Everyone here loves pictures, post some pics of your ride when you get a free moment, and again welcome!

Welcome to the site... and perhaps some muffler pictures would help also.

Probably a typo, who would name a muffler grindhouse? Welcome to the site!

There is a business named Grindhouse Performance Engineering LLC in Johnstown, Ohio that is an automotive customization facility that provides vehicle restoration, engine, suspension, exhaust, paint correction, and paint customization services. That's the only thing I could find.

There is some printing on the mufflers I can't make out.

Grindhouse Mufflers

Thank you. Enlarging the picture, the writing on the passenger side muffler says Inlet. Can't make out what the driver's side says, but it looks like it says inlet, upside down. I'll get under there later today and see for sure. Here's another picture from the back of the car, and I don't see any writing.

Look a lot like Flowmasters to me.

Yes they do. They also look like a couple of mufflers sold by Summit., and the JEGS Deep Tone.

Chambered steel muffler. They are all pretty much about the same.

Aint that the truth! Trying to concentrate on the ones that have "Inlet" embossed on one of the ends. Sent off an email to Grindhouse Performance in Ohio, again. Hopefully they'll answer this time. Thanks.

Those are either (no)Flowmaster mufflers or clones. If they are "Grindhouse" then they are likely an offshore knock-off of the annoying Flowmaster design.

Agreed, Flowmaster or a clone. Kindest thing I can say for Flowmaster is they'll last forever. The noise and drone get old quickly on a street driven car.

Wonder what an Olds V8 would sound like thru a fart can?🙃 probably not near as obnoxious as the cars fart cans are designed for!

Funny you should mention that. While we were waiting in the middle of downtown Carlisle for the tow truck to yet again rescue the camper, someone drove by in a new Mustang 5.0 at aggressive throttle. My immediate reaction was "How did they get a V8 to sound like a Honda with a fart can?"
