Great resource
I just bought my first classic car, a 69 Cutlass convertible. I'm looking forward to using it as a daily driver in the summer months here in Maine.
Its been stored for 13 months and the previous owner bought it in 1971.
He is unable to find any records for the car so the odometer reading of 29,000 is questionable. It has had some rust repair and paint, but mechanically all original with a/c. This is gonna take some patience...

Welcome
jamesbo does love the 69's for sure. This is a great site to find out info on your Olds and find out best places to get parts so hang in here and ask lots of questions. Post pics of you 69 cause we all love to see pics

Welcome to the site!
I was on a coastal tour of Maine in June and saw a couple 71 / 72 Cutlass verts. The weather then and scenery was PERFECT for tops-down cruising and I was really missing mine!!
You will enjoy the car a lot up there.
Post some pics when you can!

Welcome, AC in a 'vert is cool.
On those sweltering hot and sunny Maine Summer "month" days you can blast it on max with the top down to stay cool.
You may get 5 MPG but just get a "This car burns carbon based fuel" bumper sticker and the more "enlightened" citizenry will think it's some sort of enviromentally friendly vehicle.
Watch out for your pic-a-nic baskets when Jamesbo's around.
He's smarter than the average.

summer in Maine
Thanks for the welcoming. I spent some time today looking at my brakes. They were rusted frozen. I gave them some heavy pedal pressure, heard a snap, and I now have pedal travel but no resistance. The front brakes and wheel cyclinders look fine; no leaks. I'll try flushing and bleeding the fluid but I have to imagine the master cyclinder must be tired after 13 years of inactivity! I'm anxious to go for a ride before the handful of Summer days turn into snow days here. If anyone knows of a left side grille and headlight surrounds for sale, I'm on the hunt.

Here's a pic of the Cutlass that's been sleeping for 13 years: Other than no brake pedal, she's ready fora shakedown cruise.
